Late writings
In the last decades of his life Alfred Tomatis devoted increasing attention to philosophical and spiritual reflection — a trajectory that led him as far as a conversion to Catholicism. This section gathers his late writings: texts in which the question of listening, central to his entire body of work, opens onto a metaphysical and religious dimension.
These texts belong to a different register from that of the scientific and clinical archives. They are presented here for their own sake, as the expression of a late-life thought — neither a continuation of his scientific work nor a repudiation of it: a self-standing facet of the trajectory that a heritage site is bound to preserve and to situate as such.
